“Thames Valley Construction and Civil Engineering have successfully completed 2 no. concrete frame apartment blocks, one being 7 storeys high and the other 5 storeys high, running concurrently and completing the works ahead of target programme. Their site team, led by Tamlyn Lingham continually maintained safety standards, whilst methodically working to programme and absorbing any design changes with a pro-active attitude acquiring additional rebar and resources, as work progressed.
I would have no hesitation in using TVC on another concrete framed project.”

“Thames Valley Construction worked as a 1st Tier Subcontractor to Carillion between June 2013 and July 2015. Their package involved the formwork, falsework, reinforcement and concrete operations for construction of a number of major structures on the project.

During this time they supported us in delivering our contractual commitments under ‘Targeted Recruitment and Training’ as well as our wider sustainability objectives of local employment.

All of this has assisted the project as a whole to meet and exceed a number of core and wider objectives to leave a lasting legacy in the local community.”

“Thames Valley Construction Ltd were contracted to undertake the construction of the concrete frame for Skanska on their 66 Queen Square project in the centre of Bristol. The construction consisted of both traditionally reinforced and post tensioned in-situ concrete.

From the outset they assisted the project team in value engineering with advice on the sequencing and methodology of the works to ensure progress of the project was achieved in both quality and duration. Despite their works being delayed at the start, and the challenge of co-ordinating their works with the construction of an adjacent steel frame, they resourced the job to ensure that they completed their works ahead of programme.

Throughout the works their entire workforce carried out their duties in a safe and expedient fashion to the satisfaction of all parties involved with the project. They actively promoted health and safety and worked with us in evaluating and implementing various types of safety equipment and procedures.

They excelled on this very demanding central city project and as such we would have no hesitation utilising their expertise and services on future projects.”

Nathan Bowerman, ICIOB
Project Manager

“Paul Jennings and the site team at TVC undertook the management and construction of the concrete frame works for the town centre redevelopment. A challenging project due to the programme and logistical requirements of a fast moving town centre development.

TVC completed the reinforced concrete structure to a very high standard allowing the CLT frames to begin on time. They also completing the civic centre concrete frame and topping slabs to the multi-story car park on time and to an exceptional quality. Very high standards of health and safety were maintained through out, with excellent control of high risk works such as mobile and tower crane use, work at height and basement formation.”

Willmott Dixon Construction

“Thames Valley Construction have completed the concrete frame contract on the Cardiff and Vale College project for Willmott Dixon Construction during October 2013 – June 2014 of the build; the level of workmanship, assertiveness and communication skills are exceptional and the best I have ever experienced for over 18 years.

The most impressive nature of TVS is the dedication to the detail and focus to programme. The targeted programme for the build was set at 31 weeks and TVC completed the concrete frame in 34 weeks. The 3 weeks over run was welcome, knowing the amount of inclement weather & crane down time we had during this build period.

I have no hesitation in recommending them for future project and class them as my preferred concrete installer for all my future concrete frame projects.”

“Ben and Simon, Thanks for your hospitality today as part of the LRQA audit which is going extremely well. [Expected nothing else!!] I just wanted to drop a note regarding my observations. As usual the project is controlled very well. Regarding TVC, often we see contractors who are safe and do what we ask. However with TVC they are clearly proactive. All the extra touches like their lifting area signs, notice boards, green box and notices in the canteen demonstrate this. It is very good to see.
Thank you very much again.”

“My overall impression of TVC is an extremely positive one. They brought an experience and knowledge to the contract that served well in helping achieve, in conjunction with the rest of the team, the successful progression and conclusion of the 4 Storey Concrete Frame. Their non-confrontational approach was most welcome. They were happy to integrate and work alongside other members of the team, and nothing was too much trouble. TVC are passionate about there work, trustworthy, definitely team players. In conclusion we would wholeheartedly recommend this subcontractor.”

“Four storey complex reinforced concrete frame within tight site footprint. Logistically a difficult frame to construct, but Thames Valley were very proactive and did a fantastic job. The finish to the circular 16m tall concrete columns to the exhibition place is still a talking point by many academics. Excellent Heath and safety on site, collaborative working approach and two full time supervisors on site, all enabled Thames Valley to deliver a concrete frame to a very high quality and 4 weeks ahead of programme.”
