As part of the groups strategy, we work closely with community schools, University of South Wales, Coleg Gwent and other training bodies, to support our people’s options and choice of skill development. Working within the curriculum of engineering, quantity surveying, finance, information technology, management, retail, and more, we can offer an access route at any level to recognised occupational criteria.
We are serious about safety, with our people given a taster in our purpose built development centre. We cover a range of access training modules, such as; Working at height, Abrasive wheels, provision and use of working equipment, along with emergency rescue and first aid scenarios. This is almost always completed at induction or probation stage, however must be completed before deployment if no CSCS card or First aid certificate is held.
To help our teams with familiarisation of any new concepts or trials, we have a purpose built mock shop available, that can be tailored to accommodate most scenarios. We feel there is no substitute for the touch and feel of a live environment, so we strive to replicate this where possible. VR and immersive deep technology are in development to further enhance the training experience, whilst reducing risks through inexperience.
Setting our teams up for success, is key to the growth of the business. We expect high standards and good leadership to compliment our technical ability, and through continual professional development and support available to our teams, we offer a great culture of learning and coaching which you can be a part in delivering.
